The Gospel of Matthew is the first book of the New Testament and one of the most structured accounts of the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It presents Jesus as the promised King from the line of David, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, and the long-awaited Messiah of Israel.

Who Wrote the Gospel of Matthew?
The book was written by Matthew, also known as Levi, a former tax collector who became one of the twelve apostles of Jesus.

Matthew begins with a genealogy tracing Jesus back to Abraham and King David, proving His legal right to the throne of Israel.
